International GCSE Global Skills Projects Shortlisted for the T4 Global EdTech Prize 2026

8billionideas has been named to the Top 25 Start-Ups shortlist for the second annual Global EdTech Prize, run by T4 Education with the support of Owl Ventures and Digital Promise.

The International GCSE Global Skills Projects was recognised alongside 24 other start-up initiatives from around the world, selected from a global field of applicants for their impact on real classrooms and real learners.

OxfordAQA developed the International GCSE Global Skills Projects to respond to a worldwide shift in education – and we're the team helping to bring it to life in classrooms across the globe.

What the Prize recognises

The Global EdTech Prize is judged by educators. It exists to identify tools and programmes that are genuinely changing outcomes for students, teachers, and schools — not just adding new technology to the classroom, but solving problems that matter.

Winners are selected across three categories: Majors, Start-Ups, and Non-Profits. The Top 25 shortlist is the first stage of a process that runs through to January 2027, when winners will be announced live at the World Schools Summit in London.

What happens next

• September 2026 — Top 10 finalists announced in each category
• World Schools Summit — Finalists present their work to an Expert Panel of investors, policymakers, and education leaders
• January 17, 2027 — Educators vote by secret ballot; winners announced live on stage in London

Why this matters

Being named among this year's Top 25 Start-Ups puts the International GCSE Global Skills Projects alongside some of the most closely watched innovations in global education — recognition that reflects the strength of this qualification and the schools delivering it worldwide.
